The state of things in the world...

Universal primary education- the amount of money it would take to have, in every country, basic schooling available for all children is $10 billion per year. Every year the US spends more than that on ice-cream.
Reproductive services for every woman, to make childbirth safer, would cost $12 billion per year. Europe and the US spend that amount on perfumes.
Basic healthcare and good nutrition would cost $13 billion a year, and Europe and the US spend that amount on pet food.
Primary level education for all at current rate of progress will be achievable by the time Kylie Minogue is 162 years old.

This information is... just horrifying. People worldwide dying of preventable causes, while the richer countries are spending on petty priviledges...

Beautiful Girls

The pressure is on. Every day influences, television, magazines, fairy tales... they all involve woman who are the image of feminine perfection. These are the woman that young girls and teenagers idolise, the ones who they want to be like. But in this way, the girls are tryin to achieve unrealistic, and unhealthy goals. They want to be stick thin, with a large chest, thin and shapely legs, clear and flawless skin... Should the next generation be constantly trying to achieve outside beauty? To my readers, it shouldnt matter what u look like. Embrace inner beauty! I guess in the end thats all that matters anyway. When you're 60-70 years old, lets face it, you wont be model like, and "gorgeous". But after all those years you can still be nice, and caring, and love your fellow humans, and love the environment, and all the fluffy animals!

Vote 1 inner beauty

Discrimination, racism, IDIOTIC!!!

What have some people got against people who are different?
This is an issue i am very much against. Judging someone because they are from a different country, have another colour skin, or just because they look or speak differently, is incredibly stupid, idiotic and completely wrong.
This is a problem we as a species have faced for thousands of years; race discrimination. I for one believe that all these differences make every person unique, special, and beautiful.
So what drives some people to hate an entire race of people, be it any race? I suppose in neanderthal, nomadic times, it would have been something along the lines of 'survival of the fittest'. You would have stuck up for your own family or group, and everyone else would be hated and killed because your family or group came first for resources, land, and anything required.
I guess that frame of mind still remains in some cases.
What doesn't help is the fact that blaming other races for our problems is a speciality of governments.
The American government makes us believe that practically all Muslim people are terrorists. I believe this is merely a ruse to subtract attention from the governments plot to get control of oil sources. Sure, there are terrorists, but that doesn't mean that anyone who follows Allah (generally a peaceful bunch) is going to blow everyone else up.
And indigenous Australians; the aboriginals. The government has that thing to 'help' the children. The government isn't very subtle in that they're not trying to help people, they want control of the land that is rightfully aboriginal territory.
Racism is a massive handicap on society. People should not have to be ashamed of where they come from for fear of discrimination or even physical abuse. Hopefully one day racism will be a thing of the past, and EVERYONE will be able to live safe, happy lives without the fear of discrimination.

peace, to everyone.

Hurting people

I hate hurting people. Mentally that is. Just seeing someone i have hurt can have me lying awake at night, guilty, for weeks on end.
Everybody says or does things without thinking, and i believe most people regret it afterwards, and feel the guilt.
So how do some people spend all their time insulting people, hurting people, killing people mentally? Why doesn't the guilt keep them awake all night? How do they live with themselves?
Maybe they honestly cannot see the problems they cause. Maybe these people are devoid of feelings, other than smug satisfaction that they have insulted someone 'unworthy' of being associated with in a friendly manner.
And then there are those people who are in more than friendly relationships and one day say "i never liked you anyway". That's just cruel. Dumping people at all is horrible to do, but if it has to be done, it can be done in a more sensitive way. There is no 'nice' way to dump or reject people, but you can try to show empathy.
I myself have hurt people before, and to them i am so sorry.
But to those people who hurt others based on things that make them unique and special, you are the scum of the earth. I hate you.

peace and happiness

'Experts'

Don't you just hate it when people automatically think they are the best at something? When a task pops up, they step forward and say 'i know what to do' in this really smug tone, and of course everyone else who knows what to do is completely and utterly wrong.
Maybe it is a trait of humanity, or at least some people, to believe they are better than everyone else, and in their own minds see themselves as best for the job.
Admittedly, sometimes these people ARE the best for the job, but then they act all superior. And then there are those other smart people who stay back because they know their own ability, and know that they honestly have no idea what they are talking about or what to do.
But the general annoyance is still there.
It happens with things as irrelevant as opening a box. Lets say person 1 says "i cant open this box", and immediately persons 2, 3, 4 and 5 all jump in and claim they can open the box, they know what to do. If someone else does manage to do it, of course, in their own mind everyone else could have done it better, or faster. Maybe these people just like being noticed. Maybe they like being the centre of attention, and being seen as an expert for a while.
I say: give other people a chance to prove their worth once in a while. If you know what to do and no one else does, fair enough. But if a whole ton of people are 'experts', there is no point in fighting to do something that everyone else 'knows' they can do better anyway.

peace out

The True Meaning of Punk

Punk is a sort of music isn't it? It's a fashion style, with safety pins, and black, and psycho colours, right?
Punk used to be a statement of individuality. It used to mean something, rather than just being seen as a genre, or a popular sense of fashion, or even just being seen as 'cool'.
Punk was created so that people who were true individualists had a way of saying "this is me, im here, im different, and i dont give a damn what you think". i myself strive to have the same mindset, but the problem is that punk was too cool. Other people caught on to being 'individual', and copied what individual people were wearing, and listening to, therefore eliminating what the true purpose of individuality is- to be yourself, not the typical idea of cool.
So really, punk was destroyed as soon as the idea of being individual spread to the cool, awesome popular people.
Nowadays, punk is thought of as a genre of music, or a band, or a style, but all of these things are just a shadow of the past, a shadow of all that punk stands for.
It's like some people were trying to show off their true selves, and be different from the rest of the world, were copied in taste and style, and all thats left are their little clones.
this is actually quite sad. Hail the original punks who fought to be themselves and ended up being copied by thousands of people, who screwed up the true meaning of individuality.

Social Status

Most people find that they specifically fit into a social clique. There are many different sorts of status for different people, but some main ones are-
the popular guys (the 'hot' ones), the popular girls (the 'attractive' ones), the sporty guys, the sporty girls, the people who hang around the edges of popular, the ones who insult everybody, the nerds, the geeks, the gamers, the girly girls, the loners, the drifters, the annoying ones and 'other'.
It has happened throughout history, people separating into social spots because of looks, intelligence, ability to maintain vigorous exercise, insulting skills, and what they like to do in general.
Never mind that its probably healthier to the mind to maintain a balance of all these different things... People call anyone with mild intelligence a nerd, does that give all us nerds the right to call everyone else a vegetable?
And popular...I wont even start on how stupid it is to think yourself better than everyone else for obscure reasons! Loners are generally some of the nicest and funnest people you will ever meet, and drifters have this good balance thing going on.
So before you judge someone on what group they belong to, just think about it first. Then i might actually attempt to stop dissing popular people.

Environmentally friendly teen clothing?

It's incredibly hard to find stylish, environmentally friendly teen clothing where i live. i spent at least an hour or two looking up clothing brands on the internet, and then more time in the town library, and nothing at all appealed to me.
A lot of the stuff just looked like shapeless sacks, with flowers stitched on messily. I know other countries have eco-friendly clothing marketed for teenagers who care about the environment, but I CANT FIND ANY. It sucks.

There are also shops that sell 'save the environment' slogan t-shirts, but when you look at the tag, rather than being eco-friendly organic cotton, it is 100% standard cotton. You may ask what is wrong with this, so i shall tell you.
Cotton plantations only cover about 2% of the worlds arable and fertile land, yet they contribute to at least 20% of the worlds pesticides pollution.
Organic cotton is farmed chemical free, without harmful pesticides. Organic cotton is softer, better quality, and a better choice all up. And yet hardly any organic cotton or even hemp is used in teenagers clothing at all.
So i urge clothing lines, designers, creators, please, there are people who want to help the environment as well as having nice and comfortable clothing.

'Manly' sporting ability...great...

Guys with muscles and lack of brain cells, who run around in short shorts with other guys for the sole purpose of getting sweaty and muddy while kicking a ball through some posts, are definitely worthy of being worshipped.
NOT.
Sure, sports keep guys fit and healthy, but its no excuse for sporty guys to once again, regard themselves as 'better' than any other guys. And of course, a lot of girls find muscly strong guys attractive, probably a trait handed down from when humanity was merely nomadic tribes, and guys were needed for strength because in a world of survival of the fittest, strength was a big plus.
But nowadays there are plenty of guys out there that are funny, and smart, and attractive, but the shallow girls will not go for them as they do not get hot and sweaty in short shorts on a regular basis! Not that the girls can be sure that muscular arrogant sporty jerks will go for THEM anyway.
Thankfully, girls are growing out of that way of thinking, even if it is slowly.
To all you sporting guys, it has been scientifically proven that if you get hit in the head too many times with a ball or another player it will kill off your brain cells and you will become a vegetable, with nothing going for you. So if you don't want to end up unloved, and in a nursing home drooling at the age of 30 or 40, heed my warning.

'Popularity'...it blows

This being one of the things in society that i think blows, the topic of 'popularity' is one i shall speak about now.
What makes a person popular? Sadly enough, in this day and age the majority of people labelled as popular are not the sweet, open minded, considerate souls we would like them to be, but rather a bad kind of popular, people who think they are better than everyone else for reasons as yet undecided. What makes them better than other people? The fact that they laugh at their own jokes; which are usually insults anyway?
Of course, some people are good popular. EVERYONE, no matter how different, is treated nicely, and in return the person is loved back. That is the ideal popular person, a good type of popular.
Too bad that the values that usually dictate what is popular are usually "which girl is the hottest" or "which guy has the best body/hairstyle". I would go so far as to say "who is the biggest b*tch" or "who has the least number of brain cells".
These popular cliques usually aim to give as many people as possible low self-esteem by the end of high school. They may do it unconsciously, but they hurt anyone who looks, thinks or acts different from their 'perfect' stereotype. Its wrong.
In a perfect world, no one would be 'perfect'. Everyone has their own little quirks, and these should be embraced instead of scorned.

To all the popular people out there, please review how you act around people that aren't like you. Because insulting someone for being themselves is completely idiotic. Popular people who refuse to listen to the truth, YOU SUCK.

peace y'all

Passion

The definition of the word passion is spread over a variety of meanings. It can mean any one of the following: -a powerful, intense emotion such as joy, love, hatred or anger,
-sexual desire, or lust,
-the object of said desire,
-boundless enthusiasm,
-the object of said enthusiasm,
-an abandoned display of emotion.

In the context i use it, it represents that i feel strongly about certain issues. I am passionate about people in the world, and about the environment. I am passionate about doing well in school. I have a passion for performing, and sometimes i am passionate about someone special.

With this blog, i aim to convey the message of things i feel strongly about. By this i mean things that need to change in the world, things that are not half appreciated for what they are, and i wish to make it known to the whole world how i feel about things that just plain SUCK.

peace out y'all
